Trump Declares UK’s Chagos Handover ‘Super Duper Great Stupidity’ – Demands Giant Lollipop as Compensation
In a fiery Truth Social rant that left world leaders giggling behind their hands, President Donald Trump today branded the United Kingdom’s decision to hand over sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius as “an act of GREAT STUPIDITY – like, the biggest, dumbest thing since someone tried to eat soup with a fork!”
The tiny tropical paradise, home to a super-secret US-UK military base on Diego Garcia (which Trump insists is “the best base ever – tremendous beaches, fantastic palm trees, nobody does islands like us!”), is being passed to Mauritius in a deal that lets Britain and America keep renting the base for 99 years. Trump, however, sees it as the UK basically giving away his favourite holiday spot for free.
“Shockingly, our so-called ‘brilliant’ NATO buddy the UK is just handing over Diego Garcia to Mauritius FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER!” Trump posted, adding approximately 47 exclamation marks. “This is total weakness! China and Russia are laughing their heads off! And don’t get me started on how this proves we need to buy Greenland RIGHT NOW – it’s got ice, it’s got penguins, it’s got everything!”
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer responded calmly, saying the deal protects national security and costs only a few billion pounds a year – “pocket change for a good cause.” Trump fired back: “Pocket change? That’s like saying my hair is ‘just a little orange’! If the UK wants to play silly buggers, they can send me a giant golden lollipop as an apology. Extra big, with sprinkles!”
Experts (and a few confused parrots on Diego Garcia) are baffled. One island expert told The Dafty: “It’s like giving away your treehouse but still getting to sleep in it on weekends. Very confusing.”
Meanwhile, Trump doubled down: “If the Brits don’t wise up, I’ll take the Chagos back myself – with a big beautiful wall around the whole ocean!” Sources say he’s already ordering gold-plated bulldozers.
The Chagos Islands remain sunny, the base remains operational, and the world remains utterly bewildered.
